"Our dedicated engineering team has worked tirelessly to develop a multi-touch solution that is easy to integrate, affordable and provides clear differentiation from other manufacturers," said Hidetoshi Kamoto, Executive Officer of Wacom Company Ltd’s Component Business Division. "Accuracy is a key focal point and our initial tests confirm a multi-touch system that is incredibly stable, even when installed on larger LCDs, or notebook personal computers operating in battery mode."
According to the company’s description, the new solution for computer monitors and smartphones’ displays supports multiple finger input and features 100 fps speed, 0.5 mm pointing accuracy range, and a resolution of 200 ppi. It will be demonstrated during WinHEC 2008 between November 4 and 6 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and is targeting also manufacturers of retail and hospitality point-of-sale terminals, self-service kiosks and industrial automation equipment.
We will find out more about this high-end feature brought by Wacom, from the company’s future press releases.
