It has always been a pleasure for me to introduce you Toshiba notebooks because they come always with attractive designs and are up to date with the latest technology requirements, and Portege R500 is not an exception.

The new model is an Ultra Mobile PC and is available in two versions: R500-11J and R500-11I.

The Portege R500-11J costs around $3,660 and brings the Intel Core 2 Duo ULV U7600 CPU with 1.20GHz speed, the Intel 945GMS Express chipset, Wi-Fi a/b/g connectivity from Intel, 64GB SSD storage, 2GB of DDR II memory, the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with 256MB shared memory, Bluetooth, 3G+, Gigabit Ethernet, and Windows Vista Professional operating system pre-installed.

Unfortunately, there is not optical drive integrated.
The display is a WXGA Transflective LED type of 12.1 inches and with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and the UMPC measures 283 x 215.8 x 19.5/ 25.5 mm, with a weight of 779 grams.

Both models will be available starting this month.
Portege R500-11I has a DVD Super Multi ultra slim drive and is priced at $3,000 because it has a S-ATA HDD type with 120GB data storage capacity at 5400 rpm, and besides the rest of the featured mentioned at the previous model, has Windows Vista XP Professional installed.
It measures 283 x 215.8 x 19.5/ 25.5 mm and weights 999 grams.
