Lenovo ThinkPad X301

We’ve seen the specifications of the 13.3-inch Lenovo X300 notebook at the beginning of this year. Lenovo ThinkPad X300 specs included a high display resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels, a 2GHz low voltage processor from the Intel Core 2 Duo line, integrated X3100 graphics chipset, and up to 4GB memory support.
Now Lenovo introduces a new laptop in the series, the ThinkPad X301, which follows the design line of ultra-thin and ultra-light models. Enhancements were made at the multimedia level, as well as the storage type, changed to Solid State Drive instead of the Hard Disk Drive, and the processing technology supports the next-generation computing.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X301 is just 1-inch thick at a weight of almost 3 pounds, but even if it is a powerful portable computer, it was designed to consume less power than other similar configurations. Inside it integrates the Solid State Drive technology providing 64GB or 128GB storage capacity, and DDR3 memory technology that increases the overall performance with 20% over the previous model.

“Lenovo continues to push the technology envelope by giving road warriors the latest enhancements in solid state drive storage and digital display technologies with the new ThinkPad X301 notebook PC,” said Sam Dusi, vice president, worldwide notebook product marketing, Lenovo. “This announcement extends our commitment to blending ultra-portability and functionality, and equipping today’s business users with the most advanced, highest-performing computing tools.”

Lenovo introduces also the DisplayPort technology for displaying high-definition content, and VGA connectivity to allow a whole family to watch the same HD images on multiple displays.

The Internet access features high-speed support via the mobile broadband wireless technology supported by the new laptop, and there is also Bluetooth for short-range transfers with compatible devices, as well as the Ultra-Wideband, which enables data transfer at high bandwidth of up to 500MHz. With mobile broadband via AT&T users can download stuff and navigate on the Internet at 250% higher speeds than the previous Lenovo ThinkPad models.
Other important module integrated in the X301 is the GPS used to find the best routes in the area.

The 13.3-inch laptop will be available starting August 26 at a price of $2,599 via the authorized dealers.
