Sony Viao Laptop Reviews
Posted by: LaptopsArena in Sony
For true James Bond fans, Sony has released the 007 TX VAIO which is also called the James Bond spy gear laptop. The charcoal-colored laptop has an Intel Core Solo processor with 2 GB of RAM and 80 GB of available disk space so you can store all you top secret documents away from the enemy's eyes. You laptop comes in a James Bond suitcase. When we looked at the case we imagined there were hundreds of thousands of dollars in there or at least a very powerful bomb. But inside the case, you will find the 007 TX VAIO plus a number of different gadgets (spy gadgets, of course) to help you successfully fulfill your mission. You have a privacy filter which can be places on the display of the laptop and whatever is on the screen will only be visible to those sitting in front of the laptop (excellent when your boss passes near your desk and you're playing online Monopoly). The Sony digital camera with 7.2 mega pixels and 3x optical zoom is bound to help you take some good pictures of your enemies and catch them right in the act. You also get a serialized glass photo certificate (just in case your friends don't believe you are an actual spy) and a 007 letter to make you feel welcome in the world of mystery and beautiful women. For a price of a bit lower that $4000 you can get your hands on this limited edition collectors-item and start your age of glory and adventure.

As for the other Sony VAIO laptop reviews, we have gathered some information about certain models which are bound to be of interested for some of our readers. The Sony VAIO VGN-CS215J/W is available for only $700 dollars and it's one of the cheapest Sony VAIO's around. The beautiful white laptop and its design reminded us that design is mostly what sells a Sony VAIO (that, and the fact that it's a Sony). The 14.1 inch glossy display may be difficult to see in a powerful-lit environment but it's not recommended you keep your laptop in a place too sunny, anyway. You have the Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 processor which is more than enough to help you perform tasks such as browsing the internet, listening to music, editing you photos or watching a good movie. The battery life, however, is not exactly this model's strong point. Using the video battery drain test, the Sony VAIO VGN-CS215J/W shut down after 2 hours and 5 minutes of usage. You get a one-year warranty with the system and that about it with this model.

Continuing our Sony VAIO laptop reviews, we are going to present to you a model which is small, expensive, beautiful and powerful. The Sony VAIO VGN-P588E Lifestyle PC has a screen which is only 8 inches wide and the whole mini-laptop just looks like a large wallet. This little gadget is absolutely perfect for those who are frequently travel and need to be up-to-date all the time and check their e-mail or read the online newspapers. The Sony VAIO VGN-P588E Lifestyle PC is so small, you can just throw it in any purse or bag and you forget it's there. The range of colors is bound to satisfy you as this laptop is available in red, white, green and both onyx and matte black. And you also get a beautiful leather case for better protection of the mini-laptop. One thing that may strike a bit odd is the lack of the touchpad (you will use a pointing stick instead) but this sacrifice has to be done in order to bring us such a small computer.

Below the keyboard you will still find the two mouse buttons. Unfortunately this small laptop comes with Windows Vista. As for the specs, the Sony VAIO VGN-P588E Lifestyle PC runs with a 1.3GHz Intel Atom Intel Z520 processor and 2 GB of RAM, an integrated Intel GMA 500 graphics card and 64 GB of hard drive. The size of this small laptop reminded us of those portable playstations. As expected, you get a lot of software preinstalled, mostly to help you with networking and running multimedia tasks, but we are sure you are going to end up uninstalling most of them. Be careful, because of this small screen you might it difficult to read some documents or any other text. Even if you have a zoom option, unless you are a patient person with good eyesight, you will be very frustrated with the Sony VAIO VGN-P588E Lifestyle PC.

Remember that this mini-laptop was designed for the basic needs of travelers, mostly for internet purposes and writing document, uploading pictures from your camera and so on, so you cannot expect much performance from this small gadget. With the video battery drain test, the Sony VAIO VGN-P588E Lifestyle PC's battery lasted about 3 hours and 8 minutes, which is quite a short time if we compare it to a netbook like, let's say, the Acer Aspire One who has a powerful battery that lasts up to 6 hours. For about 130 dollars extra you can but another battery, a better one, which helps your laptop run a bit above 5 hours. The price of this model is around $1150 but there is a starting price of $900.

Keep in mind that Sony VAIO products are from really cheap, to really expensive, as Sony knows it's difficult to survive in times like these on a market which is so competitive. Sony guarantees the quality of their products and the smashing success of the Sony VAIO series has led us to believe that Sony wants to be knows as one of the best laptop manufacturers and they have shown us that they mean business!
