Sony VAIO USB Laptop Docking Station

When we want computers with style we think of Sony, a company putting much accent on this feature for all its products including laptop and computer equipment. Recently it launched the Sony VAIO USB laptop docking station, a device promised earlier this year at the Customer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It is an USB universal laptop dock with DisplayLink technology, which allows you to connect analog or DVI displays to your laptop computer via USB 2.0.

The stylish peripheral measures 11 x 1.25 x 2.92 inches at 1.03 lbs, and features a smart USB cable management allowing you to adjust the length and side position.

It is shipping to United States, Japan and European Union bringing several connectivity types in a single unit, including Ethernet, audio, 4 USB ports, headphone port, microphone port, DC in, so you can add devices like external monitors, mice, keyboard and printers.
DisplayLink network display chip with specific software enables connections between computers and displays via USB, to expand the workspace visually.
Sony VAIO USB Laptop Docking Station VGP-UPR1 is compatible with Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems, and supports Windows Vista Aero.

“USB connectivity makes this dock the most convenient yet in the Sony portfolio, ensuring that graphics images can be smoothly displayed through a familiar USB plug-in,” says Hamid Farzaneh, DisplayLink president and CEO. “The Sony VAIO dock with embedded DisplayLink expertise brings a powerful combination of productivity, simplicity and style benefiting both busy workers and consumers alike.”

The new Sony VAIO USB laptop docking station is available at a retail price of $199.99, with the shipping date for pre-orders set for tomorrow.
