Sony’s Vaio W

With the release of Sony’s Vaio P series earlier this year, customers were taken by surprise with the so-called premium price-tag and the slow boot-up of the device presented by the critics. But meanwhile the Japanese company has revealed that they plan to release late this autumn another version of ultraportable computer Vaio P that’s called “mark 2”. No details are currently available beside the fact that it will present a faster boot-up time, but a review of Sony’s first proper netbook, the Vaio W was made in order to have some knowledge on the new products series of the Japanese computing company, so we are entitled to say that Sony’s Vaio W is preparing the ground for Vaio P 'mark 2' to be released in October.

Sony Vaio W is the first attempt of Sony’s company in creating netbooks, though Sony avoids calling it netbook, referring better to it as being a “chic mini notebook”. Form all that is known there are also the specifications that reveal Vaio W a netbook, through that that contains an Intel Atom Processor N280 (1.66GHz), 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, webcam Motion Eye, a couple of USB ports and the rest.

sonye28099s-vaio-wThe company’s product is aiming toward the users that have always ‘aspired’ to get one of the tempting Vaio before, although the price is not what one could call to reach the budget-netbook level, but again this is not the case with Sony’s products. The Sony Vaio W is set to be launched later on the market at a price of $399.00 and there must be reasons to reveal the necessity of paying $100.00 more than in the case of other netbooks.

One of the reasons could be the keyboard which as minor as it seems makes a lot of difference in that it presents a legerity that your fingers have while typing without being stressed of the possibility to bash the neighboring keys. Another reason would be the 10.1” high resolution screen (1366 x 768) that resembles the one belonging to the 40” high definition TVs. This is quite amazing and turns the Vaio W into one of the best netbooks in this matter. Even if it offers light chances to watch a movie on an Atom processor having only 1GB of Ram, there is still th4e option to upgrade it to 2GB of Ram. But when it comes to everyday use, such as browsing the internet, it presents the advantage that one doesn’t need to scroll on the sides in oreder to be able to view the whole website.

The device is powered by a battery to hold three hours but it is an extra option offered by Sony in that one can get a 6 cell battery to prolong its life up to six or seven hours. Some other paid accessories are present, such as wetsuit-style bag and a colored mouse that raise the costs to $440.00. As closing information, the netbooks are coming in a nice shade of pink, too in case one might want to buy the device for his missus. All in one Vaio W is to be released for purchasing in the mid of August, so in case you look for a tiny chic “notebook”, as Sony calls it, you can be sure to satisfy your needs related to this kind of product.
