S101 – Slimmest Eee PC Mini Laptop Computers

Until we'll have the touchscreen Eee PC available in stores, let's take a look at the latest 10-inch model introduced by Asus in its mini laptop computers line. The Asus Eee PC S101 is a fashionable version of the most popular mini laptop computer, coming in an ultra-slim form factor measuring just 18 mm thick at 1Kg weight.

It was launched a few days ago in Brown, Champagne and Graphite with the Infusion finish, while integrating the Wi-Fi 802.11n highest-speed wireless Internet connectivity. In addition, it features Bluetooth 2.0 for file transfers with other compatible devices, shock-proof 64GB Solid State Drive with silent operation and reduced energy consumption, and a 4-in-1 card reader for MMC, SD, Memory Stick and MS-PRO flash cards.

The new Eee PC S101 users get also 30GB encrypted Internet storage capacity on the online Eee Storage service.

The display has the largest size among Eee PC models, measuring 10.2 inches in diagonal, and features wide active matrix LCD technology with LED backlight, supporting WSVGA resolution, meaning 1024 x 600 pixels.



You can operate it for up to 5.4 hours continuously, thanks to the Polymer battery and the Super Hybrid Engine, which allows you to switch between operating modes, so that the computer to adjust the power consumption needs automatically.

Users can choose the operating system pre-installed on the new mini laptop computers, from Microsoft Windows with Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Mail, or GNU Linux with 50 applications designed for learning, productivity on the go and mobile entertainment.
Specifications of the new Eee PC S101 include an Intel Atom low power consuming processor, Fast Ethernet LAN, 1GB DDR2 memory, 1 VGA port, 3 USB 2.0 ports, 2 audio jacks for headphones and mic-in, a built-in 0.3MP web camera for video conferences, multi-touch pad, Digital Array Mic, and high-definition audio via the built-in stereo speakers.



The price for the new Eee PC S101 mini laptop computers was not unveiled yet, but it is rumored to be around $750.
