Philips to Manufacture Notebooks in Brazil

It seems that Philips will found new factories in Brazil during December, the country that will be the first where this company will manufacture and sell its notebooks, with desktop computers to follow after.

Philips goal is to conquer 10% of the market until 2010.

The first two models to break the ice in Brazil will be a 11-inch and a 13-inch notebook with magnesium alloy housing.
The smaller model will be powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo ULV U2400 with 1066 MHz, integrating 1GB of RAM, 120 GB HDD, and a Dual Layer Burner. This model will cost approximately $2,500.
