Kingston HyperX Computer Memory Upgrade

Soon you’ll be able to purchase notebook computers integrating the latest Kingston technology which enables higher performance with no overclocking. This improvement is brought by the new HyperX PC2-6400 CL4 SO-DIMM memory modules from Kingston, one of the top memory manufacturers, featuring low-latency 800MHz in 4GB kits, with the Serial Presence Detect capability, which are meant to replace existing chips in laptops, in order to boost performance.
Without playing with system BIOS settings, laptops powered by the P45/Centrino 2 processing technology will have 2 new profile options: DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-12 at 1.8V and DDR2-667 CL3-4-4-10 at 1.8V.

At a suggested retail price of $257 with lifetime warranty, the new Kingston memories with Serial Presence Detect enable support for 800MHz-CL5, 667MHZ-CL4 and 533MHz-CL3 low-latency configurations.

“As more notebook systems standardize on faster 800MHz platforms, particularly the Intel Centrino 2 chipsets, Kingston engineers designed the high-performance, ultra low-latency HyperX SO-DIMMs to support them — right out of the box,” said Mark Tekunoff, senior technology manager, Kingston. “The new SO-DIMMs offer flexible upgrade options with their ability to enhance many existing systems — boosting 800- and 667MHz platforms with the faster performing CL4/CL3 ultra low-latency SO-DIMMs.”
