Acer announced the availability of its new Gemstone Blue High-Definition notebooks in North America. The 18.4-inch Acer Aspire 8920 and the 16-inch Acer Aspire 6920 come in a cool blue image with distinct features like dual-core processors, 16:9 display, multimedia management center, Blu-ray disc drives, large storage capacity, and HDMI port.
The larger model runs on an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9500, with Mobile Intel PM965 Express chipset, integrating up to 2 hard drives of 320GB each, optional 8x DVD super multi double layer optical drive, the Acer CineCrystal display technology, NVIDIA GeForce 9650M GS or NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS graphics, gigabit LAN, 6-in-1 card reader, Express Card slot, WLAN, Bluetooth, modem, and built-in web camera.
The smaller Gemstone Blue notebook has an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9500, the Mobile Intel PM965 Express chipset, and features the NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS graphics, and the same components as the previous described model.
Both run on Windows Vista operating system and provide the Dolby Home Theater technology with CineSurround, Tuba CineBass booster, and up to 5 integrated speakers for True 5.1 sound.
The starting prices for the Acer Aspire 8920 is of $1299 while the Acer Aspire 6920 costs $849 minimum.
