G-Technology Mini SSDs Offer 500 GB External Storage

Need a lower-power consuming external storage solution at 2.5 inches thick and with high capacity of, let’s say… up to 500GB? Then you might want to find out more details about the new G-DRIVE mini SSD models from G-Technology.
These external Solid State Drives come in 120GB, 250GB and 500GB capacities, standard or with RAID 0/1, the later called G-RAID mini SSD.

The provider says these are the most rugged and durable external drives available on the market today, in addition to be plug-and-play and providing high performance.
Specifications highlight up to 1500Gs shock withstanding, endurance at high altitudes and vibration/high temperatures resistance.
More than these, both G-DRIVE and G-RAID enable high-speed data transfer rates, quiet operation and low seek times.

G-DRIVE mini SSDs of 120GB and 250GB feature FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interfaces for connectivity to High Definition video providers, audio and other multimedia file types, at data transfer dates of 60MB/s in writing and 75MB/s in reading mode.
This model weighs 8.5 oz and powers via USB and FireWire.

G-RAID mini SSDs come with eSATA, FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interfaces, and enable data transfer rates of up to 195MB/s. They support simultaneous playback of 5 ProRes 422 HQ streams and one uncompressed HD stream if attached via eSATA.

You can find the G-RAID mini SSDs in 250GB and 500GB capacities, as well as the G-DRIVE mini SSDs in 120GB and 250GB versions, at prices of $999, $2,199, $599 and $1,299 respectively.

“These are not your daddy’s drives – unless he requires the most durable, bleeding-edge storage technology on the market,” said Roger Mabon, vice president of Fabrik’s G-Technology product group. “These products target a very niche market segment that understands the cost benefits of using a superior quality, yet simple, SSD-based external storage solution. Nothing comes close to their quality, performance and reliability.”
