Fujitsu Siemens LOOX R Might Come With the Penryn CPU

At the beginning of 2008 Fujitsu-Siemens will release the first ultraportable PC powered by Intel Penryn processor.
LOOX R will have a 12.1-inch display, no less than 4GB of RAM memory, 120GB of HDD storage, and a dual layer DVD-RW.

These specifications are not confirmed but from what we’ve heard, the screen will be a LED backlit type, with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and the battery will have a working time of up to 9.7 hours.

It will also feature Gigabit LAN, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g support, SHDC slot, fingerprint reader for security, Firewire connector and a PCMCIA slot.

We will find out more after January 6, the date at which Intel announced the launch of its latest Penryn processor.
