Dell Vostro Redesigned
Posted by: Sierra in Dell

Dell took into consideration its customers’ needs and redesigned its Vostro notebook line making the models lighter, thinner and with pre-installed data protection software.
The new redesigned laptops include Vostro 1310, Vostro 1510 and Vostro 1710 which are optimized for small businesses and are already available in several countries with others to follow up soon.

Dell Vostro 1310 is the smaller model with a display measuring just 13.3 inches in diagonal and equipped with fingerprint reader, Trusted Platform Module, cable lock slot, McAfee Total Protection for Small Business security software, and slot load optical drive.

The 15.4-inch Vostro 1510 has the same security features and is available at a price of $599, while the 13.3-inch Vostro 1310 costs $749.
In May, Dell will release also the 17-inch notebook model called Vostro 1710.

In A Dell Vostro 1510 those indicator lights have not been fully explained.
I want to know the function of the indicator light with the LOCK icon. Also, the function of the security cable slot.

Viktor, check this example of cable lock from Targus here. The notebook comes with a special slot that connects to the cable lock from Targus and you can loop around a fix object, so no one can steal your laptop. The part that connects to the computer allows you to set one if the 10,000 possible password combinations.
I couldn't find any detail about the indicator lights and the LOCK icon, so you'll have to contact Dell and ask for some help. I can recommend you this page here. Give them a call. :)
