Dell Latitude XT Officially Announced

Dell Latitude XT Officially Announced

Finally, Dell has announced on its website the new Latitude XT Tablet PC, the thinnest convertible tablet in the world, and in the same time one of the lightest, weighting under 4 pounds and measuring 12.1 inches.

At a price of $2,499 you get the most advanced Tablet PC on the market.
A remarkable characteristic of Latitude XT is the technology used for the touch screen, meaning that the capacity technology is sensing the touch of your fingers and recognizes the input without the need to press.

You may consider this Tablet as the last predecessor of the multi-touch technology, because it comes with advanced touch features including touch response times faster than the Lenovo X61T, advanced digital palm rejection technology that helps in preventing inadvertent contact that jams the pen input, 10 times more durable digitizer technology than the resistive touch digitizer technology, and not at last, maintenance-free, no-battery pen plus eraser, and right-mouse click.

“With Capacitive touch technology, the Latitude XT will revolutionize the way customers interact with their systems, allow customers to take full advantage of tablet technology and enables customers to get more done with greater speed and precision,” says Margaret Franco, director at Dell Product Group.

“By integrating our DuoSense technology into the Latitude XT, Dell creates the ultimate machine destined to lead the tablet PC market,” adds Amihai Ben-David, CEO of N-trig. “Customers using the new Latitude XT will find that the zero pressure touch combined with the accurate stylus changes the usability of tablet PCs. Once they try it, they won’t want to go back.”

The summary of the Tablet’s specifications includes Intel Core 2 Solo and Duo ULV processors, ATI Radeon X1250 UMA integrated graphics, 64 GB SSD and up to 120 GB HDD, the option to add a media base for docking and optical media, a full-size keyboard with dual pointing, and an optional battery slice for up to 9.5 hours of work time.
