Voice Controlled MIDs

Yes, it is true that soon you’ll be able to control your mobile Internet device with your own voice commands. This is possible thanks to the new technology called MobileVoice created by One Voice, a company headquartered in California, known as the developer of the world’s first 4th Generation voice solutions for the Telecom and Interactive Multimedia markets. This innovation enables electronic gadgets to execute different functions at the sound of the user’s voice, and such devices can send emails, SMS, instant messages, or purchase products or obtain information.

The new MIDs with this capability will be those powered by Intel Atom processors and will use the patented technology to control music, pictures and search on the Internet.

Later this year the enabled computers will be available in stores running on Moblin-based operating systems, including Ubuntu Mobile and Red Flag Midinux, while the Software Developers Kit provided by One Voice will allow third party Independent Software Vendors to add voice control to their MID applications.

Currently, MobileVoice for MID understands commands like Play Artist The Rolling Stones, Play Rock Music, Show Hawaii Vacation 2008 Pictures, Call Pizza Delivery, Read my Email, Find a video on Olympic basketball, Play movie The Incredibles, and Go to MySpace.com.
As you can see, this software must be very sophisticated in order to be highly responsive for such long commands.

"The Mobile Internet Device category represents tremendous growth opportunity for Intel, One Voice and the industry," said Dean Weber, President and CEO at One Voice Technologies. "Using One Voice's SDK, OEMs can easily incorporate state-of-the-art speaker independent voice recognition across all their applications. One Voice enhances the Internet experience in pocketable devices by enabling users to transcend numerous menus and screens to easily access the content they desire faster than ever using only their voice."

The following video demonstration is made by OneVoice, exemplifying how you could control a computer with voice commands:
