Toshiba is releasing a limited edition of its dynabook SS RX1/W5A notebook model that will be available only on its online store.


Unlike the dynabook SS that has been available in Japan since a few months ago, which has an Intel U7500 1.06GHz processor, this version will be running on an Intel Core 2 Duo U7600 CPU at 1.2 GHz.
It will still have 2 GB of RAM memory as the existent model, with 2 storage options: a 64GB SSD, or a standard HDD of 120GB.



Another difference is that the limited edition will not come with the DVD burner.
It does not have a large display, Toshiba preferring to equip it with a 12.1-inch WXGA TFT screen with a resolution of 1280x800, and an external resolution of 1920x1440.



If you haven’t read the specs yet, the dynabook SS has a High Definition Audio sound card from Intel, built-in microphone and monaural speaker.
Other features include 802.11 B/G networking, 10/100/1000 LAN, and the PCMCIA card slot.

The dynabook SS is a relatively expensive model being offered at a price of €1,690.

The new Qosmio G45 is a luxurious designed notebook, coming with the Ultimate TruBrite display on a 17 inch screen and a 1920x1200 resolution, which supports 1080p, in other words the Widescreen Ultra eXtended Graphics Array (WUXGA).



It has a Cosmic Black chassis color and a white keyboard with Fingerprint Reader.
The sound quality is rendered by the 4 high-fidelity Harman Kardon Bass Reflex speakers and a subwoofer.
The video quality is rendered by the HD DVD-R3, a High Definition TV Tuner, and the HDMI connector.



And now I will highlight the base features of the pre-configured model exposed on Toshiba’s website, the G45-AV680.
We have a 2.0GHz Intel Core2 Duo T7300 processor with 4MB L2 cache and 800MHz FSB and an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics card having its own dedicated 512 DDR2 memory and 255MB dynamically allocated shared graphics memory ensured by the TurboCache technology.
Next, it comes the 2048MB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM memory and the 1024MB Intel Turbo Memory.
It has also a large storage of 320GB, consisting of 2 HDDs each with 5400rpm.
The DVD-RW is a SuperMulti, HD type, and supports 13 formats.
It also has Wireless WiFi Link 4965 AGN meaning 802.11a/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0 and EDR.

The extra features are:

-slots for: ExpressCard, RGB (monitor) output, S-Video output, HDMI output, S/P DIF output, Microphone input, and Headphone output;

I will enumerate the software included and then I’ll scary you by telling the price.
Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV680 comes with TOSHIBA’s ConfigFree, Game Console, Speech System, Security Assist, and Disc Creator, and Microsoft’s Office Trial Home, Student 2007 Edition, and Works Version 8.5, InterVideo WinDVD 8, Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 for Toshiba, and McAfee Internet Security Suite trial.

Toshiba has added another laptop in their Dynabook family.

The new TXW sports a 15.4-inch display with a 1,280×800 resolution, a 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 processor, Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 graphics card with 256MB memory, up to 2GB of RAM, a 120GB HDD, a multi drive dual layer DVD.

Other features includes four USB ports with 802.11b/g wireless, IEEE, Ethernet and stereo speakers.

Toshiba Satellite TXW Dynabook ships with Vista Home Premium system operation and has a starting price of from $1,839.

Toshiba has announced today that the company plans to incorporate laptops powered by AMD processors in its laptop offerings. The laptop PC maker plans to use AMD chips in moderate-priced standard models for individual and corporate clients, Reuters reports.

Toshiba will install AMD chips in some models to be released this summer.

The estimated prices of AMD-equipped laptops are expected to sell for up to $82 less than comparable models.
