Tablet Notebooks

Tablet notebooks are one of my favorite types of laptops. The reason why I like them is so much is because they act as regular laptop and the screen can also be rotated so you can write on them using a stylus pen just like you would write with a pen on a regular piece of paper. When it comes to tablet notebooks manufacturers, one of the best has to be HP. But since we have constantly reviewed HP tablet notebooks in the past, I thought we could try something different so this is why this article is going to be about the Fujitsu LifeBook T4410.

Having the latest Windows 7 Professional operating system and being priced at a bit less than $2000, this is one classy tablet PC. It runs on a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 processor and 2 GB of DDR3 RAM which make multitasking an easy mission for everyone.

The graphics card is the Integrated Intel X4500M and the storage capacity of the hard drive is 250 GB. In terms of design, there is nothing particularly special that the T4410 has and other tablet notebooks don’t. The 12.1 inch display has great horizontal viewing angles and we love that fact that this display can be rotated into any direction. The multi touch screen is very responsive and it works impeccably when you switch the notebook to tablet mode. The integrated speakers are obviously lacking bass but the sound quality is very good for a 12.1 inch notebook.

The keyboard is probably one of the best features on this mini laptop. If you are not in the mood of using the laptop in tablet mode, typing is going to be a pleasure. The keys feel pleasant when you touch them and even if there is a bit of flex registered, the keys have good travel and positive feedback. The touchpad offers nothing special. It can be considered too small by people that have bigger hands by there is no significant lag registered and it feels pleasant to the touch as well.

The number of ports and connections is not the biggest even seen but you do get 3 USB ports, a HDMI port, a VGA out and a docking station connector and these offer good expansion possibilities. Battery life is one of the most important aspects on a small and portable laptop. This is why Fujitsu worked hard to achieve good battery performance with the T4410. If you set the display brightness to 70%, surf the internet with the wireless on and set the Windows 7 power management profile to “balanced mode” you will get about 4 hours and 30 minutes of battery life.

It’s a pretty good score if you ask me. It’s fair to say that the Fujitsu LifeBook T4410 has some aces up its sleeve with the beautiful 12.1 inch display that can be rotated in any direction. Surprisingly, this laptop also includes an optical drive which is quite uncommon on thin and light units. The system has a good overall performance. It could use some work on the built in quality side.
