Samsung has announced the release of a new series of laptops , the stylish Aura series.The first Aura laptop will be the R20.

The Samsung Aura R20 comes equipped with an AMD/ATI RS600ME chipset for Intel processors and Radeon Xpress 1250 integrated graphics chip, Celeron M or Core 2 Duo T7400 at 2.16GHz. Other features includes : two memory slots for up to 4GB RAM, HDD from 60GB to 160GB, Super-Multi DVD burner, 802.11b/g wireless, Bluetooth, a 56k modem and Ethernet LAN.

There is no information on Samsung Aura R20’s availability dates and pricing.

Taking the GITEX 2006 function at Dubai, UAE as a backdrop, Samsung has come up with its much anticipated SPH-P9000, new ULTRA portable PC, which will be on sale in South Korea within a couple of weeks.

Featuring Wibro (Mobile Wimax), 10 Mbps (download), 3 Mbps (upload) of Data Rate, CDMA2000 1x EVDO support, the ULTRA portbable PC will become the smallest gadget to present Microsoft Windows XP and full sized QWERTY keyboard.

Supporting 256 Mb DDR RAM memory, 1 GHz CPU and bluetooth support, the SPH-P9000 offers 262144 color TFT WVGA (5″, 800 x 480) display and 1.3 megapixel camera as well. No words on pricing.

One of the Samsung team told, that this device will be on sail in 2 weeks in South Korea. The specification of Samsung SPH-P9000:

Samsung offered in Korea the Q30, an ultra portable with a 12.1” display, 23.8mm thick and only weighing 1.1kg. The Q30 has ceased to exist, here's now the Samsung Q40.

Samsung Q40 has the same case, but also includes now a DMB TV tuner, HSDPA and WiBRO. It has a 1.1GHz Core Solo U1400, 1GB of RAM, a 60 GB hard disk, Wi-Fi, and an external DVD player…

The computer doesn’t have a fan. This superb computer is priced at about 1,800.00 euros in Korea!

Just when we thought spinning hard drives were going to stick around forever, Samsung throws us a curve-ball.

According to NoteBook Review, Samsung is planning a release of solid state NAND driven Q30 notebook this June.

The Samsung Q30 will have 32GB of SSD and will cost around $3,700 USD and there are no plans to release the device outside of Korea at this point in time.
