The new Nokia N810 Internet Tablet

Nokia has released its latest 810 Internet Tablet, a Linux-based wireless multimedia device without a phone, to rival with the iPhone and Ultra-Mobile PCs.

It integrates GPS functionality, has Ajax and Adobe Flash 9 support, and a built-in slide-down keyboard model.

Coming with so important improvements, the price of $479 surely won’t be a problem for the majority of the heavy users of Web sites.

Instead of cellular networks, Nokia 810 Internet Tablet is connecting to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
It has built-in maps and satellite navigation, a high-resolution camera, IM messaging, and a 10-gigabyte memory card.

It is frequently compared with Apple's iPod Touch Internet multimedia device, which has a price of $299, also without phone feature.
But Nokia 810 has also a touch screen, the pop-up keyboard, and it is also larger.

The General Manager of Nokia's multimedia business, Anssi Vanjoki, describes the 810 as a “clean Internet device” that “does not bring any of the ridiculous leftovers of the past.”
