Lenovo has announced the Thinkpad T60. The new generation of the Lenovo Thinkpad T60 has a fresh look and continues to improve upon the resources offered by this flagship series of laptops.

The Lenovo Thinkpad T60's specs remain the same with the Thinkpad T60p expect the color that you want for your laptop, other than the usual black.

The new Thinkpad T60 features a 15.4-inch widescreen (1680x1050), up to 2GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, a 8x CD/DVD burner, fingerprint scanner and is powered by a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Thinkpad T60 has pre-installed Windows XP Professional Edition.

Lenovo Thinkpad T60 comes with 28 color options. There is 18 metallic colors (like envy, blush, candyapple, blaze, lilac) and 10 solid colors (like ferarri, cotton candy, jade, crush).

The Thinkpad T60 ships in approximately 2-3 weeks and is priced at $2,950.

Dolby Laboratories today announced that Lenovo has launched the Tianyi F50, its first notebook to feature Dolby Home Theater that offer advanced home theater audio features and premium surround sound experiences. Lenovo Tianyi F50 owners can also enjoy a vast library of music and more than 17,400 films worldwide that use Dolby technologies.

According to the press release, the multiple Dolby technologies within the Lenovo Tianyi F50 address a broad spectrum of lifestyle needs and listening situations. “For listeners who enjoy music or movies late at night, the Lenovo Tianyi F50 offers virtual surround sound over any set of headphones.

For listeners at home who need a simple, inexpensive way to enhance their entertainment, the Lenovo Tianyi F50 delivers virtual surround sound using just two speakers. For people with entertainment systems, the Lenovo Tianyi F50 can easily be integrated with a home theater or audio/video receiver to deliver 5.1 channels of audio through speakers,” the press release says.

Currently there is no info about other Lenovo Tianyi F50 specifications, as same as about it price and U.S. availability.

Lenovo this week unveiled its Y-series notebooks in China, they are aimed at the consumer market with reasonable pricing and multimedia functionality.

The Lenovo Y300 is a thin-and-light notebook featuring a 13.3" screen, slot-loading optical drive, and a dedicated Nvidia GeForce Go7300 graphics card. The Y300 also features a webcam, but it is not simply a webcam - it also lets you log into the computer. That's right - it acts in the same manner as a biometric fingerprint scanner, and can recognize a user if they simply look into the webcam. The Y300 weighs 2.2kg.

Lenovo's other Y-series, the Y400, features a 14.1" display and has a stronger multimedia feature set. It does not feature a webcam, although it does have a 2-watt subwoofer built-in.

Both the Y300 and the Y400 will be available in Asia Pacific on December 15; pricing will be released at a later date.

Weighing a very reasonable 6.1-pounds, the budget-priced Lenovo 3000 C200 manages to pack an Intel Celeron M (1.60-GHz) processor, 512MB of DDR memory, 80GB HDD, DVD Super-Multi drive, and a 15-inch display.

External interfaces include four USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire port, a 4-in-1 memory card reader, biometric fingerprint sensor, and 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi.

Lenovo 3000 C200 is now available in Japan, with prices starting at $637USD.

As any ThinkPad owner will attest, the design is minimalist, somewhat boxy, and all black, without any of the shiny accents or startling colours of other models. I prefer this look to the newer plastic white-grey look on many consumer and lower-end corporate notebooks.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X60 won't attract undue attention in a business meeting or classroom outside of its amazingly small size and professional look.

This laptop is, in my opinion, the ultimate business laptop for those who move around (who don't sit at the same desk all the time). Its immense portability combined with processing power, battery life, professional design, and keyboard comfort make it the perfect notebook for those who need any or all of the above.

I take this notebook to classes and its small size and weight allows me to easily juggle paper, binders, and documents without having to worry about running out of batteries or sluggish programs. Although there are a few problems with the notebook, I think it really shines in the ultraportable class above all other current models.
