This is the newest announcement made by Ted Clark, senior vice president and general manager, Notebook Global Business Unit, Personal Systems Group, HP. The company has launched 17 new notebook models designed for both business and customer sectors, which were unveiled at Connecting Your World 2008 event in Berlin.

HP EliteBook is a premium notebook series bringing a variety of functionalities for personal use and performance requirements, in durable aircraft-style designs, while the other models sport sleek liquid-metallic HP Imprint 2 surface design.
Thinking of removing all mercury from its screens by the end of 2010, HP laptop computers are built with energy-efficient features and offer the possibility to choose mercury-free Illumi-Lite LED displays.
Besides eco-friendliness, the new HP laptop computers are powered by the latest technologies such as AMD Turion 64 X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processors, Intel Centrino 2 and Intel Centrino 2 with the vPro technology.

HP Pavilion Entertainment customer notebooks brings design enhancements and innovations such as the invisible chrome controls that light up like magic giving you access to HD TV, pictures, movies and music, via HP QuickPlay.
To add more style you can add the optional HP BrightView Infinity Widescreen with the matched keyboard model and touch pad. For hard drive protection the HP ProtectSmart is ready to detect drops and stop the hard drive from spinning, keeping this way the data stored secure.

Another newly launched HP laptop computers series is the HP Compaq Presario with HP Imprint 2 surface finish, which brings optical drives, wireless connectivity, high-quality audio, built-in web camera and microphone.

Next comes the HP EliteBook line optimized for business professionals featuring the durable HP DuraCase brushed anodized aluminum exterior with magnesium alloy chassis. These 2.1Kg-notebooks come with HP QuickLook 2 software, HP SpareKey and HP File Sanitizer, along with shock-resistant hard drive and spill-resistant keyboard. The models are characterized by a 14.1-inch display with optional Illumi-Lite LED technology and up to 15 hours of battery life thanks to the optional Ultra Capacity battery.

All these new HP laptop computers will be available starting July and the other lines included are the b series and s series designed for business and security needs.

The notebooks allow you to burn your media on CDs and DVDs via the SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer, LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer, or the Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW Double Layer.

It’s HP’s turn to launch a mini portable PC for students through the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC.
This model will be affordable at a starting price under $500 and equipped with the right components for the educational sector, such as wireless connectivity, multimedia tools, communication applications, data security, and a lightweight and small form factor at 2.5 lbs.

A student can use the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC for Internet connectivity, email messaging, Instant Messaging, blogging, watch videos, web conferences, still-image capture, use VoIP, and connect with other Bluetooth-compatible devices.
HP covered it in an anodized aluminum shell to be light, added an ergonomic full QWERTY keyboard with HP DuraKeys, and a large, scratch resistant 8.9-inch WXGA display.

When it is moved suddenly or suffers an unexpected shock the HP 3D DriveGuard sends a signal to shut down the hard drive using a three-axis digital accelerometer chip.



You can choose either a 3-cell battery or a 6-cell version for the mini notebook that will be available soon this month.

Available at a starting price of $599.99, the new HP Pavilion dv6700z laptop is aimed at the portable digital entertainment market sector, featuring Windows Vista with Service Pack 1operating system, Blu-ray DVD player, and the optional full package consisting of HP Imprint Finish (Radiance) finish with Fingerprint Reader, webcam and microphone.
In addition the notebook comes with optional HP ExpressCard Digital/Analog TV Tuner for the online Program Guide, TV scheduling and recording so you’ll be sure you won’t miss any episode from Prison Break.

To ensure a fine sound quality for the moments you are listening to the music, HP integrated two professional stereo speakers made by Altec Lansing.

You can use the HP Pavilion dv6700z series also for your small business as it is equipped with an AMD processor up to Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology Gold Edition TL-68 at 2.4 GHz speeds, a 15.4-inch WXGA HD display with BrightView technology for clarity in high light conditions, up to 4GB DDR2 2 Dimm memory, NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS graphics with 256MB memory, Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, optional Verizon Wireless V740 ExpressCard, up to 320GB HDD storage, and a long life battery of up to 12 cells.

The new series comes with several software for data back-up, finance & accounting, antivirus and photo editing.

We found out that the HP 2133 ultra mobile PC has the full specification revealed and should be released on 7 April, but we aren’t sure as we got these information from , where they published several pictures with the mini notebook.

For a price of approximately $600, the UMPC from HP will bring a 1.2GHz C7-M processor, 120GB HDD storage, 1GB of RAM memory and will run on Windos Vista Home Basic operating system.
If you need a little bit more, for about $750, you can opt for a 1.6GHz processor, Windows Vista Business, Bluetooth connectivity, 2GB of RAM and a longer battery life.

At $850 which is still a low price, you get a longer battery life and Windows Vista Basic edition.
The HP notebook here sports an 8.9-inch WXGA display, meaning a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, and weights 5.26 lbs measuring 13.27 x 8.54 x 5.28 inches.
