Best HDMI Notebooks
Posted by: LaptopsArena in HDMI feature, notebook
When people are on the market looking for HDMI notebook this generally means that they are planning on attaching an external TV, a HD TV so they can enjoy stuff on a bigger screen, generally movies. In my personal vision, the best HDMI notebooks are the ones that also have an included Blu-ray optical drive.

This type of optical drive allows you to watch movies on DVD at a much better quality than the movies you generally watch on your notebook. By attaching an external TV, you can enjoy the HD images as if you were at the cinema (well, this actually depends on the diagonal size of the TV that is attached to the notebook). Let us see some examples of best HDMI notebooks. From what we have read in different reviews and forums, the Asus C90S is one of the best choices for a HDMI laptop. In standard, this desktop replacement will come with a regular DVD burner but users can upgrade to the Blu-ray optical drive and therefore take full benefit from the included HDMI port.

This notebook is priced somewhere around $1400 but if you choose the Blu-ray optical drive, the price is going to rise to approximately $2000. The unit has a 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 processor and 3 GB of RAM which can be upgraded to a maximum 3 GB. The hard drive size will vary according to the users’ preference but you can go with the 160 GB hard drive which is ok in terms of storage room. The 15.4 inch display has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels and the graphics card is the nVidia GeForce 8600M GT with 512 MB of video memory.
Another good choice for a notebook which has both a Blu-ray optical drive and a HDMI port is the Sony VAIO NW. This one is a bit cheaper and you could get it for a maximum $1500 (including the Blu-ray drive). The unit is incorporated with Intel Core 2 Duo processor and you can go with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphic cards. In general, the unit comes with the preinstalled version of the Windows Vista Home Premium operating system (the 64 bit version).
Sony is well known for developing the VAIO line of multimedia notebooks which have the Blu-ray feature in common. In fact, wasn’t it Sony that developed the Blu-ray technology? Oh well, that is not important. What is important is that there are a lot of Sony VAIO laptops that have these 2 keys features which represent our topic of the day: HDMI port and Blu-ray drive.

Different videos which can be found on the internet will show you just how to make the right connections so you can attach you laptop to your TV. You need some special cables in order to do so but once the mission is accomplished, you and your friends can whip up a huge bowl of popcorn and enjoy some high quality movies on a huge screen.
