Fujitsu LifeBook P8010 is now available for purchasing and the base configuration is priced at $1,699.
Coming in a cool and extremely glossy black finish with silver accents, the 12.1-inch ultra portable laptop shows a Crystal View LED wide display and has a battery life of up to 6.5 hours.

The small portable laptop measures 11.2 x 8.26 x 1.37 inches with a weight under 3 pounds, and is powered by a SL7100 VL processor, integrating a an optional camera for video conferences, 80GB storage space, integrated graphics chipset, up to GB RAM memory, and a dual layer multi format DVD-RW.

It is protected by the Trusted Platform Module microchip, the biometric fingerprint and by the security lock so all your data will be stored safely.

P8010 is also a durable notebook equipped with a slip-resistant keyboard and the Fujitsu Shock Sensor HDD protection system.
For connectivity it brings with three USB 2.0 ports, SD card slot, modem, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and wireless support with dual diversity antennas.

Later this year you will be able to try new Fujitsu Siemens notebooks with Sierra Wireless modules delivering HSDPA network connectivity.
These will be only selected models coming with new platforms dedicated to the professional sector, and one of these notebook computers is Lifebook P8010 that will be showcased during Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona.

This is not the first time when Fujitsu Siemens is collaborating with Sierra Wireless, but this time the HSPA modules ad tri-band UMTS/HSPA and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE access for roaming on mobile broadband networks everywhere in the world, and also Receive Diversity and GPS support.
The fully shielded modules have an operating temperature range of -25 to +60 degrees Celsius fitting all application requirements.

When the feature is supported by the mobile broadband network operator, the notebook can offer information like local find or locate for fuel stations, restaurants, as well as navigation assistance via software.

Fujitsu Siemens LOOX R Might Come With the Penryn CPU

At the beginning of 2008 Fujitsu-Siemens will release the first ultraportable PC powered by Intel Penryn processor.
LOOX R will have a 12.1-inch display, no less than 4GB of RAM memory, 120GB of HDD storage, and a dual layer DVD-RW.

These specifications are not confirmed but from what we’ve heard, the screen will be a LED backlit type, with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and the battery will have a working time of up to 9.7 hours.

It will also feature Gigabit LAN, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g support, SHDC slot, fingerprint reader for security, Firewire connector and a PCMCIA slot.

We will find out more after January 6, the date at which Intel announced the launch of its latest Penryn processor.
