Dell has finally broken down and released a laptop with an AMD processor. That’s right, the Dell E1501 Inspirion is the first of its type, with either AMD Turion 64, Turion 64x2 or Sempron CPU.
Dell E1501 15.4 inch laptop is full of features. It has 512 MB of main memory, 256MB shared memory, ATI RADEON Xpress 1150 integrate graphics, Dell Wireless 802.11 g Mini card, 60 GB hard drive, CD-RW/DVD optical drive combo, as well as the Windows XP operating system.
The Dell E1501 Inspirion is available on the Dell site for about $549. That is pretty cheap for a laptop, and the prices are probably going to fall even lower.

The Dell XPS M1210 has been a rather pleasant surprise to many ever since rumors of its existence leaked out earlier this year.
By combining a portable 12.1" widescreen form factor, 2-spindle design (HDD + Optical drive), A/V capabilities with 3G WWAN ready antenna, high quality Logitech webcam, and the option of a dedicated nVidia GeForce Go 7400 graphics chip, the M1210 packs a lot of punch in such a small size, rivaling many larger 15.4" or 17" models.
Dell wasted no time in offering the latest from Intel to boost the performance of this model even further -- in the form of a 64-bit dual-core processor known as Core 2 Duo (codename Merom), after only 4 months of launching it with the original Core Duo. Today we'll take a look at how the updated model performs in the age of 64-bit dual-core computing.'

The Dell Inspiron E1705 has been around for awhile now.
There are many configuration options available, and prices are often very affordable once Dell coupons are applied (for US customers at least). A top of the line E1705 can offer performance almost on par with the XPS M1710, at much lower prices. Recently, Intel released the Core 2 Duo (Merom) processors, and Dell has been one of the first companies to offer notebooks with this new processor.
Having owned a popular desktop replacement, the HP DV8000t for awhile, my expectations of the E1705 were high. I'm satisfied to report that the E1705 has met my expectations, offering fantastic performance at a great price.
It doesn't have the keyboard problems of my HP, and has a better graphics card and processor. On the downside though, the keyboard lacks a numberpad, and the computer runs very hot on stock settings. It also comes with more bloatware than the HP. I certainly hope that companies these days aren't engaging in some kind of bloatware arms race.

The Dell Inspiron B130 is something that people always check out, but rarely end up buying. At $449, it's the cheapest notebook you can get on Dell's Web site that's not a refurbished model.
Sure, Dell thinks of this as its starting configuration, where you build upon it by adding more system memory, bumping up the hard drive, or upgrading the DVD-ROM drive..
The B130’s specs include:
* Intel Pentium M or Celeron M processor
* Windows XP Professional or Home Edition
* WordPerfect software suite
* 256MB of DDR SDRAM - shared

The 15.4" Dell Precision M65 under review is one of two workstation-class notebooks currently available from Dell's business-oriented website, the other being the Precision M90.
The main differences between the two models are portability and graphics performance, with the M65 holding a significant advantage in the former category and the M90 being far superior in the latter, due to its top-of-the-line NVIDIA Quadro GPU options.
Both machines, however, are OpenGL compliant and presented by Dell as capable of handling demanding graphics work, such as CAD, 3D modeling and video editing. As of this writing, both offer the same CPU options, ranging from the Intel Yonah Core Duo T2300E right up to the newly released, and high-priced, Intel Merom Core 2 Duo T7600.
The Precision M65 offers an excellent combination of workstation performance (including OpenGL compliance), solid build and businesslike appearance, in a 15.4" notebook package that doesn't preclude limited portability.
Two of the M65's main competitors in this particular market segment are the Lenovo ThinkPad, which can be configured with the ATI FireGL V5200 GPU, and the HP Compaq nw8440, also containing the ATI V5200.
