Axiotron’s New Macbook Design Reveals the Modbook Pro High End Tablet

Promoted as the world’s fastest tablet computer sporting the largest touchscreen display, the new Modbook Pro introduced at Macworld 2009 features a durable yet lightweight aluminum housing of just 0.93 inches thick.



It comes equipped with the Synergy Touch technology developed by Axiotron, which supports touch input with the Radio Frequency-based stylus pen, the Quicktouch user interface with transparent-like overlays of buttons and pads, Axiotron Quickscript handwriting recognition technology with portrait mode, the Quickclicks with on-screen keyboard and shortcuts, Wuickflip screen rotation tool, high-resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels on the 15.4-inch screen, ForceGlass protective layer, a 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB DDR3 system memory, 320GB hard drive, optional 128GB SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics.

Based on Apple’s MacBook Pro design, Axiotron’s Modbook Pro comes with optional Windows Vista Business Edition operating system pre-installed on a partitioned drive, and support for Mac OS X and Apple hardware components.

The high-end tablet will come out in June at a suggested retail price of $3,049 for your Apple MacBook Pro base system enhanced with Axiotron’s technologies, and $4,998 for a new Apple MacBook Pro customized by Axiotron.

Axiotron has announced in a press release that it has just started to ship its Macworld Expo’s 2007 Best of Show award winner tablet PC.

Called Modbook, it is the first tablet PC based on Macintosh technology released on the market and the only one existent at the moment.

It an aircraft quality magnesium alloy housing it integrates the largest display from Axiotron class, a 13.3-inch wide screen with a wide viewing angle and high contrast ratio to render the most vivid colors and sharpest images.

The housing comes in two versions – satin or with mirror finish - and is made of a triple layer of metal plating, nickel over copper and topped with chrome, which makes it extremely resistant at scratches.

Axiotron, one of the high-tech hardware solution providers leaders, brings the Wacom digitized pen-sensitive LCD slate-style display to provide more possibilities to professional designers, such as drawing functionality and on-screen writing, using a variety of specially designed pen tips.

Modbook combines important Apple computers’ characteristics such as high speed, power, and usability with style and elegance, but also with the latest technologies, being capable to offer 512 levels of pressure sensitivity via its digitizer technology.

Inside, this unique model has a powerful 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and runs on the Mac OS X Leopard.
It features the Inkwell handwriting recognition technology, a built-in iSight camera, a 24x DVD Combo drive or the 8x DVD SuperDrive, and a built-in GPS system.

Expect to see this advanced tablet exposed at Macworld Expo 2008, event that will take place at the Moscone Center, in San Francisco, between January 14 and 18, while on the market, it will be available at a MSRP of $2,290 only at Axiotron Authorized Resellers from United States and Canada.
