The wooden imitation housing attracts many eyes and that’s why Asus decided to release another stylish eco-friendly notebook covered by laminated bamboo stripes.
Why bamboo? - Because this type of material is very flexible and resistant, inspiring something coming from the real nature.

"Originally we came out with a leather model style-book", declared Cher Chronis, the director of marketing communication at Asus Computer International, the Taipei-based company's US unit. "It was very popular. After that, it was kind of natural for us to experiment with other types of materials, so we decided to go green."
Still in testing phase, the bamboo notebook must first prove that it’s strong enough to resist at hard use and heat conditions, protecting the inside parts in the same time.

On the other hand, Roget Kay, the president of PC market researcher Endpoint Technologies Associates believes that "As part of a portfolio of case choices, it makes sense.”
“I don't think the computer is going to go over to wooden casing. It's ecological to grow it, but my sense is there's probably more show than substance to the claim of sustainable manufacturing", added Kay.
