Acer Aspire AS3690 is offered this holiday season for $500.

The 15-inch screen laptop features an Intel Celeron M420 processor at 1.6GHz, 512MB of main memory, a 60GB HDD and a DVD/CD-RW combo drive.It also has incorporated wireless connectivity, Ethernet LAN, 56K modem, VGA out an 5-in-1 media card reader.

Acer Aspire AS3690 has integrated the ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 1100 graphics and three USB ports.It don’t support Windows Aero feature in forthcoming Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system.

Acer has added a subcompact to its lineup of Ferrari-branded notebooks.

The Acer Ferrari 1004WTMi sports the same exotic good looks as its full-sized stable mates, but in a much more totable 3.7-pound package. Unlike some other ultraportables, however, you’ll have to make do without an integrated optical drive. Still, there’s a lot to like about this $1,999 bundle.

We like the current generation’s understated color scheme (black with red accents) much more than the original Acer Ferrari’s garish sports-car-red paint job. The yellow Ferrari shield logos on the lid and keyboard deck are prominent but not overpowering.

The bundle includes extra touches, such as both three- and six-cell batteries, a compact, matching Bluetooth mouse, a carrying case, and even a Bluetooth VoIP phone for use with Skype or other Internet phone or chat services.

Acer announced the Aspire 5680 Core 2 Duo 15.4" screen notebook.

In addition to the powerful Core 2 Duo processor the Acer Aspire 5680 features an Nvidia Go 7600 graphics card, 15.4" CrystalBrite display, 5-in-1 media card reader and up to 2GB of dual channel memory.

Acer Japan should start selling very soon in Japan the Aspire 3103, a 15.4” notebook with an AMD Sempron 3400+ (1.8GHz 64bit) processor, 512MB of RAM, a 60GB hard disk, and an ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 graphic card with a resolution of 1280x800.

Display is handled by an ATi Radeon Express 1100 chipset. The Acer Aspire 3103 WLCi features a 15.4" display and comes with the usual toppings of ports, including 3 USB, one VGA-out, a 5-in-1 memory card reader and Wi-Fi.

With a DVD and CD-R burner, the Acer Aspire 3103 WLCi is priced at about 550 euros.
