With so many new laptops released on the market recently I almost forgot to tell you about the great news coming from Intel. The largest developer of high-end processing solutions introduced 2 new rugged and reliable S-ATA Solid State Drives featuring low-power consume, meant to replace your current hard drives.
Intel X18-M and X25-M Mainstream SATA Solid-State Drives are developed with the multi-level cell NAND flash technology and designed for both desktop and laptop computers.
Why some consider SSD driver better than HDD? –That’s because the new technology enabled high performance and increased system responsiveness in rugged and lightweight low-power consuming storage devices. In addition, the new Intel Solid State Drives are quieter and cooler, providing faster boot and resume times, with no moving parts. The 1.8-inch Intel X18-M and 2.5-inch X25M proved to be 9 times better compared to standard hard disk drives, when we talk about performance.
The Intel SSD models come in 80GB at 250MB/sec reading speed and 70MB/sec writing speed, and 160GB capacities by the end of this year. The 80GB models will be available at a retail price of $595 for quantities up to 1,000.
"Validated by our rigorous testing and OEM customer feedback, we believe that we have developed an SSD that delivers on the promises of SSD computing" said Randy Wilhelm, Intel vice president and general manager of the NAND Products Group. "By combining our experience in flash memory design with our processor and computing expertise, we have added advances such as our parallel 10-channel architecture, proprietary controller, firmware and memory management algorithms that address write amplification and wear leveling issues to redefine SSD performance and reliability for computing platforms."

What could a £150-portable charger provide for such a high price?! –According to its description on the official product’s page, powergorilla is not an ordinary portable laptop battery charging device, but something more complex. It is strong enough to power all your gadgets, starting from your cell phone or your beloved iPod and up to your notebook computer.

While weighting only 634 grams at 220 x 130 x 15 mm, powergorilla supports up to 24 volts, allowing you to switch between 5, 16, 19 or 24 volts until you will see the required setting on the computer monitor. At that moment you can start connecting your device for charging, or, why not, 2 devices, like the cell phone and the laptop at the same time.
The powergorilla will give you an extra 2-5 hours of power, depending on your laptop's specification, and over 20 hours on various other electronic devices. Things seem very flexible.

About the design we learned that the new portable laptop charging device from powertraveller has an aluminum casing to make it lightweight, and also a slim form factor, but with a solid construction plus rubber protection, which makes it shock resistant.
Security features include output auto-lock, voltage limitation protection, short circuit protection, over charging protection and over heat protection. All these details from the specification list seem to be real, as the device was tested in extreme environment conditions such as hot temperatures in Afghanistan.

At the price of £150, the powergorilla portable laptop charging device comes together with a neoprene travel case, tip pack containing 8 male and 7 female laptop connectors, a tip pack containing connectors for most small devices, a 12 volts car charger socket, and the universal AC laptop charger.

If you have a high-end gaming notebook and like to play games a lot then you need a good mouse model to support you with high surface tracking capability, ergonomic shape for long hours of intensive clicks, as well as enough on-board memory for recording different gaming profiles with functions assigned to each mouse button.
One such mouse is the Razer Copperhead based on the laser technology, with 2,000dpi Razer Precision sensor type.
It comes with 32KB memory powered by Razer Synapse, enabling you to store up to 5 different gaming profiles, as well as 1000Hz Ultrapolling for 1ms response time, which is 8 times higher compared to the standard 125 Hz/8ms encountered at the other similar models.

All of the 7 Hyperesponse buttons are programmable according to your needs, while other cool features of Razer Copperhead include On-The-Fly Sensitivity adjustment, Always-On mode, Zero-acoustic Ultraslick Teflon feet, 16-bit ultra-wide data path, up to 45 inches per second and 20g of acceleration, and 7080 frames per second.
Its design has several key elements created to improve your gaming experience, such as GlowPipe non-slip side rails, ambidextrous construction, large buttons made of a special non-slip material, gold-plated USB connector, a 7-foot non-tangle cord, and a slim form factor measuring 130 x 66 x 41 mm.

Razer Copperhead is available at a price of $69.99, which might seem a bit too high for a mouse that doesn’t feature adjustable DPI setting to reach 3,200, nor allow you to add weight using cartridges.

Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access is the broadband Internet access version for the wireless connectivity level.
What became the world’s largest fully functional wireless broadband access network in Pakistan, provided by Motorola’s technology, is capable to enable portable connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspots linking to the Internet, a great alternative to DSL and cable, data and telecommunication services, as well as Internet connectivity as part of a business continuity plan.
WiMAX covers many miles and enables 10 Mbit/s speeds at 6 miles, or 10 Mbit/s over 2 km. The thing is that the more operating range it reaches, the higher the bit error rate increases.
A few days ago, Motorola introduced the first WiMAX USB adaptor for laptops, called USBw 100, which works on the 2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz or 3.5 GHz bands, to deliver high-speed mobile broadband Internet acccess to portable computers.
It looks like a standard USB receiver and plugs into your laptop’s USB port.
Starting the fourth quarter of this year it comes in stores, allowing you to access this type of connectivity from anywhere, indoors and outdoors.
“Our new USBw 100 adaptor will let people enjoy desktop-like performance while on the go with their laptop computers by giving them wireless connectivity to a WiMAX service provider’s broadband wireless network,” said Charles Riggle, senior director of strategy and business development, WiMAX devices, Home & Networks Mobility. “With hundreds of thousands of commercial WiMAX CPEs shipped to date, the USBw 100 is the latest addition to our portfolio of award-winning devices that are providing fixed, nomadic and mobile connectivity to our WiMAX customers around the world.”
