We know that many of you are searching for a pink Apple Macintosh laptop computer and that there are many sites claiming to provide information on how to get one, but they just tell you long stories forgetting the essential part, which is to tell you exactly where to find them.
Unfortunately, Apple didn't provide colored laptop computers after the special edition of the iBook Clamshell, but after doing some research over the Internet, we found some good solutions to help you create your own pink Apple Macintosh laptop, which is called customization.

First we’ll start with some cool shells that stretch on the laptop, just like those transparent cases for cell phones. This method will give the look of color shades on the aluminum surface of the laptops, and the best models are those from Speck.
Speck’s SeeThru hard plastic pink shells for Macbooks are of high quality and offer access to all the ports, as well as non-slip rubber feet. They protect the laptop from dirt, dust and spills, and are very easy to clean, covering the system only on the exterior.

After using one of these enough time to be sure you’ll still love pink in the future, you can go to the next level of customization and browse through the ColorWare web pages in search for a pink Apple Macintosh laptop design. There you can choose from 3 pink tones – Cotton Candy, Romance, which is paler, and Blush - the most elegant pink tone.

By using a metallic or solid finish for the color and spending $450, your pink Apple Macintosh laptop gets a scratch-resistant layer on the exterior and on the interior part, excepting the touchpad and the keyboard surface, which will remain white. You can combine pink with other colors for specific parts of the system as well.

Another solution for having a pink Apple Macintosh laptop is to apply skins, and I’d like to recommend you to try the designer skins from GelaSkins. You’ll spend $29.95 for a unique design like Just Cause You Feel It by Steven Daily, or Shore by Lawrence Yang, and you’ll get a skin with a pink background and impressive drawings. All their skins are removable and use the 3M Technology to be easy applicable on the laptop’s surface, leaving no residue after removal. The material they are made of is scratch-resistant, with an anti- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviolet UV coating.

You can take a look also at DecalGirl store with even more designs having pink as the predominant color.
A more expensive alternative is to apply genuine pink Swarovski Crystals on the laptop, and you can do this at CrystalIcing. The firm offers only Swarovski Elements crystals in different colors and it would cost you about $2,000 for one laptop.

Your final decision will depend on the financial resources, taste and, of course, the need to have a permanent makeover or just something temporary for your pink Apple Macintosh laptop.

Wireless Media Center Remote Control for Laptops

<-125x125 Button - right->
Though I’m not a Windows Media Center user I am thinking more and more to rely on it whenever I buy a new DVD movie or music videos. That’s because it is a cool looking and useful media center through which you can control any entertainment application on your computer running Windows Vista or XP operating system.

Being used to watch movies on my desktop monitor, which is larger than my laptop’s, I am thinking of getting a small PC Card laptop remote control supported by Windows Media Center, and connect my mobile computer to the larger monitor.
It seems a great idea that would allow one to save time searching for each player installed in the computer, as well as space for the installations, and instead focus on a single application with all features in one.

We found a popular PCMCIA laptop remote control at SoucingMap, which can be used wirelessly from up to 30 meters away in any position, thanks to the 2.4GHz wireless technology used also by the Bluetooth standard, and the USB receiver that connects to one of your free USB ports, just like wireless computer mice.

The remote and its wireless USB receiver can be easily inserted into your laptop’s PCMCIA slot and carried with you wherever you go inside your laptop.
When you are in the mood to watch something for fun you can take the receiver out, insert it into an USB port and press the buttons on the slim remote control, browsing through your media files. It recognizes Windows applications like Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Power DVD, Winamp, and PowerPoint, and you can control DVDs, play music, flip through pictures, set the right volume for sounds, with Fast Forward, Rewind, Play, Pause and so on.
You can also custom key settings.

The laptop remote control is a plug-and-play device, meaning you won’t need to install special software for it to work. It is designed to function immediately after the computer detects it.

A Li-Ion battery powers it and recharges while inside the PCMCIA slot. It measures only 86 x 54 x 5 mm at 75 grams and has a price of $27.49.

(Thanks, Simon!)

All are provided with no storage limitations.

The remote access software has a basic version which is free and can be used only for PC-to-PC connectivity for one computer, while the paid option adds all the other features.
Later this year, customers who will purchase Dell Inspiron, Studio or XPS series computers will get the optional software pre-installed.

Toshiba 1.8-inch 250GB Laptop Harddrives

<-125x125 Button - right->
In addition to the 120GB and 160GB capacities provided by Toshiba’s 5,400 rpm S-ATA HDD drives at just 1.8 inches thickness, the company has introduced the world’s first 250GB model for laptop computers.
The new high-performance hard disk drive included in the MKxx29GSG series, enables 3Gb/s interface speeds at 5,400 rpm in both laptops and netbook computers. In addition, the fall sensor protection ensures you won’t lose the data stored on the hard drive in case you drop the computer or hit it accidentally.

Before the 250GB 1.8-inch SATA HDD model, Toshiba made available the P-ATA version with 240GB storage capacity, on which the new model’s design is based on. Miniaturization of the hard drive allows notebook manufacturers to build smaller and thinner form factors for greater portability and lightweight mobile solutions, without to sacrify performance.
More than these, the new hard disk drives consume lower power by pushing areal densities to 378.8
Gb/in2, and the MK2529GSG module reaches 0.0016 watts-per-GB power efficiency, which increases laptop’s battery operating time significantly.

"Portable PCs continue to make the transition to the SATA interface. IDC estimates that 84 percent of mobile HDD shipments in the second quarter of 2008 were SATA," said John Rydning, research director at IDC. “Toshiba’s implementation of SATA 3.0 GB/s for its new 1.8-inch HDD product line will facilitate adoption in a broad range of portable PC form factors."

According to the September press release, Toshiba managed to ship 60 million 1.8-inch HDD drives, maintaining the first position in the top of this market sector.
To keep it green, like the other large PC components manufacturers, Toshiba eliminated several chemical substances from the manufacturing process such as hazardous halogens.
Specifications of the new hard drive with 250GB include up to 707.9Mbps transfer rate, 15ms seek time, 8MB buffer memory. It measures 54 x 78.5 x 8 mm at 62 grams.

"As 1.8-inch HDDs grow in capacity and performance, they offer a compelling value proposition for a broader array of mobile PCs, including high-volume notebooks," said Maciek Brzeski, vice-president of marketing, Toshiba Storage Device Division. "Combining a quarter terabyte of storage with the data transfer capabilities essential to the PC environment marks a critical step in driving 1.8-inch HDD adoption into a broader array of PC configurations. The MKxx29GSG line will accelerate growth in mobile, thin-and-light and sub-notebook categories as a result of enhanced functionality."

Laptop Mobile Broadband Internet

<-125x125 Button - right->
"We are excited to work with LG Electronics to give consumers and business users the freedom and flexibility to access internet in the way they want it, wherever they are" says Mats Norin, Vice President, Mobile Broadband Modules, Ericsson. "Ericsson is also very pleased to be selected to provide mobile broadband modules to LG Electronics’ netbooks which is a segment that is forecasted to grow fast."

This was the declaration of Ericsson, the market leader in 2G and 3G mobile technologies, which has announced that it will provide its mobile broadband modules to the upcoming LG laptops and netbooks. The new portable computers will be available on the market this quarter with wireless connectivity based on HSPA comparable with DSL speeds.

Ericsson’s built-in modules enable high-speed wireless connectivity to the Internet on the notebooks and mobile Internet devices, at affordable costs, and without high battery power consume.

According to the latest statistics, in 2011 there will be 200 million laptop computers shipped and 50% will have the HSPA mobile broadband connectivity enabled. Ericsson’s modules based on HSPA double the system capacity, shortening the response time for interactive services, leading to 20 times faster downloads with GSM/GPRS. In the near future, the same technology will be enhanced and the speeds will reach 42Mbps in downlink and 12Mbps in uplink.

Currently, Ericsson broadband modules offer up to 7.2Mbps download speeds and 2Mbps uploads.
