Buying a bare bone can be done from ASUS or MSI and after this; you can buy the video card, the processor, hard disk drive and the memory. This is how you can build a cheap laptop. But before we start seeing exactly how, where it goes, you should know the process is challenging and you will need a product manual, screwdriver and all the mentioned parts.

First of all, make sure you buy compatible components, because not all of them work one with another and that is why it is best to consult the manual. In case you get incompatible parts, you risk damaging the whole device. After you have the components around, it is time to mount them and start with the processor. Turn the chassis over and locate the plastic shell on the bottom with the processor slot. Unscrew the cover and remove it, so you can place the processor inside. In case there are some components on the bare bone that need to be removed, carefully do it so you don’t disconnect any wires. Push the processor down gently, so it stays firmly in place. Put the plastic shell back and screw the cover tightly. Now it is time for the memory. Remove the casing from the bottom in order to access the memory slot. Hold the modules at 45 degrees and push it in gently. When you hear a click, it means the job is done right. Install all modules that way.

The Wi-Fi card must be placed in the chamber. Remove the cover to expose the slot and locate the color-coded wires. Connect them in order to correspond to the wireless card and place back the plastic cover. For the hard disk, you have to first of all attach it to a metal mounting bracket. Insert the drive in the bracket and place the screws. Now you can put the hard drive in its location and screws the bracket in place. Using the cable, connect the hard drive to the motherboard. And finally, install the video card. To do this, you have to align the device’s teeth with notches on the motherboard’s slot and hold again to 45 degrees angle. Now push the card inside, until the teeth go all the way. Cover up the slot and finally, insert the battery. These said, in this way you can build a cheap laptop. It takes some skills and patience, as the process requires attention and time, but if you want to, you can do it yourself.
