Compaq Laptop Computer Reviews
Posted by: LaptopsArena in Compaq
Compaq laptop computers are aimed at users looking for a budget system, for everyday use, with a classic design, reasonable features and nothing out of the ordinary. Compaq was actually an independent company, but HP took over it years ago and nowadays HP manages everything. The original name is still valid, it has its own website and everything, but HP manufactures everything.

To get things straight again, Compaq stands for budget and you are unable to find high-end features, even if you start customizing the laptop. It is still good news for those who don’t want to spend a high sum of money on a portable system.

The majority of Compaq laptop computers run on low-end processors have 15” displays, black design with the logo on the front lid and an average weight. As any other manufacturer, Compaq has also developed series and within series, you can stumble upon several models. Compaq Presario CQ56 is one of the series and the 115DX is a good representative. It features a 15.6” display, 2GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive and runs on Windows 7 Home Premium. If you don’t like the classic design of this one, you can choose one of the CQ60 series, with a glossy finish and silver touch pad. The rest of the laptop comes in black. The glossy look does look nice, but it is also a magnet for dust and fingerprints. CQ60-419WM has a great price, very affordable and it is perfect for web browsing, for checking e-mails, using instant messaging and other such basic tasks. But if you plan on using it for gaming, video editing and so, you are in the wrong place. You have to admit that in such price category you usually find mini laptops, so it is nice to see decent performance and looks at reasonable prices. Speaking of mini laptops, Compaq has developed some of its own. Compaq Mini 110c-1100DX comes to help those looking for ultra-portability, with webcam included for video calling, suitable for e-mailing, surfing the web and processing Word documents, just like the majority of tasks a mini laptop in general accomplishes. For around $200, you rarely find better deals, taking in account the configuration: Intel Atom processor N270, 1GB DDR2 memory, 160GB hard drive and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. The screen has 10.1” LED Anti-Glare with a native resolution of 1024x600. You have all ports included, VGA as well and a 3-cells battery. Compaq Presario CQ42-136TU is an entry-level system for those seeing a basic business workhorse. If portability is an option for you and you prefer a large screen, compared to a mini laptop computer, then this reasonable system will do you justice. The battery life provides around two hours and twenty minutes of use and we shall mention once more that in Benchmark scores, the laptop pulled out average, being at the basic performance level as a mini laptop.

HP Compaq 6735s is appreciated for its sturdy construction and decent keyboard. Its design is rather more attractive than other Compaq laptops and under the hood you will find 2GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, DVD writer, AMD Turion 64 X2 RM-70 processor and ATI Radeon 3200 graphics.
